The Prophecies of Nostradamus: The Man Who Saw Tomorrow
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Berkley Pub Group (November, 1990)
Author: Erika Cheetham
Average review score:

Inaccurate and silly...
This is not a good book to pick up if you wish to learn about Nostradamus, or if you want to read some well-researched interpretations. Cheetham's interpretations are very often tenuous and inaccurate. Citing such examples from her book would be too tedious, and time-consuming. Try another book!

Preferably... watch the movie instead
Michel de Nostredame is perhaps indeed one of the most undisputed 'psychics' ever known to man. His reputation as a defied prophet, mainly in our modern times, is made much likely due to the many false interpretations of self-professed 'interpreters' to his prophecies - that when time shows their fallacies, it is Nostradamus' name who suffered in the result.
Although not to the full extent of taking some high acclaim about her abilities to interpret Nostradamus' prophecies like the number of the other so-called interpreters -- Erika Cheetham is not too far being different from the number of these "Nostradamus experts"; her quatrain interpretations of Nostradamus' prophecies either lack accuracy or they miss out on some overlooked detail to further identify the intended meaning from Nostradamus' writings. Her commentaries on some of the verses interpreted are even at times self-confessionary in admitting to this.

THE MAN WHO SAW TOMORROW however, may be good enough to fill in for other books in the study of Nostradamus' works; the author, along with a biographical chapter found in the introduction to this book on the life of Nostradamus, have provided commentaries on some of the Century Quatrains, and is quite impressive with her notes for the portions pertaining to Hitler, Queen Catherine, and Napoleon. (I don't buy much of the stuff about the over-rated Kennedys though).
This book (which is the basis and companion to the film of the same title hosted by Orson Welles) contains all of Nostradamus' ten Century text writings with the authors' personal translations for each verse.

But if you would like to save some of your time, watch the movie instead.

Inaccurate, could be better written
I bought this book because it looked interesting, but have found in just the first few pages that it contained several typos that were wrong, i.e. stating Louis XVI was "The Sun King," when Louis XIV was instead. Otherwise, I find it a nice introduction to the work of Nostradamus. Just don't make it your only source about him.

Crystals: A Fiona Kendrick Mystery
Published in Hardcover by Forge (April, 1996)
Author: Ann Zavala
Average review score:

Disappointing. Not for Witches.
I'm always looking for a good story with a Witch twist, but this one was very disppointing. The only reason I finished the book was because I kept hoping it'd get better. In the end, I skimmed though most of it because it really wasn't holding my attention. I agree with another reviewer that this was another book that did not show Witchcraft in a good light even though it did try. Another bone to pick was that this definately wasn't a mystery! I don't recommend it and the book is in my recycling bag. The reason why I gave it 1 star is because it's like a bad show on tv, or a B rated movie, sometimes when you've nothing to do, you might as well watch/read it.

Boring and pointless pornography.
Ms. Zavala's talent in writing is downright horrible. The characters' speech is dry, unrealistic, and fluffy. The story was just ridiculous. It seems like every other chapter there are long, obscene, and disgusting sex rituals that left me gagging... This also perpetuates a false look on Wicca and its practitioners. They do *not* run around having gratuitous sex with various partners of their coven at the same time to encourage magical growth. Also, spells don't have to be cast in the nude to ensure efficiency...

Overall, the first quarter of the book is only somewhat interesting and the rest is a flight of tasteless oversexual fantasy, with a big fat "RELIGIOUS" label slapped on. It gets one star since it actually delves into the esoteric world, but if you want to read a better occult mystery, get "Bell, Book, and Murder" by Rosemary Edghill. Don't waste your money on this glorified garbage.

It's a "Harry Porter" for grown-ups! Great Fun!
This is the kind of book you will want to read every single word of, without skipping anything. The main characters are so real and down to earth, with their passion for chocolate and a soft spot for stray animals, they could be living next door. The problems they face range from unpaid bills piling up and running out of toilet paper to sick children and abusive husbands; something most of us women out there can relate to. The writing style is amazing! The nightmare scenes are so vivid and intense, I had to put the book down several times, almost too frightened to continue. The ending is absolutely priceless! Great story!

DISMAL
This was my first time reading a book from this author, and I was VERY disappointed in the book! There were too many unanswered questions as far as I was concerned. I find it hard to believe that Savannah's husband up and left taking all the money from every account and then leaving Savannah broke with two children to raise, without some kind of warning, unless Savannah chose to ignore them all. How could someone NOT be aware of a problem in a marriage for as long as Savannah was? GIVE ME A BREAK! And lets not forget Dwayne leaving the old underwear behind, what was Dwayne saying "Out with the old, and in with the New?"

I thought Sydney wasting money on a private investigator to find Dwayne, when Savannah was broke financially was a bit much as well. The money would have been better spent on Savannah and her children! But more than this it angers me to see a so-called educated African American female being so naive.

The family closeness was nice, but maybe that is why ole Dwayne left, too much outside interference. I guess I'll never know but, I guess I can be thankful that the author did not use the tired old "other woman," excuse, but I felt the author should have gave more background on that topic, nonetheless.

As far as the romace between Anthony and Savannah I felt that was okay but pretty predictable.

good read
I did enjoy this book, although I agree with a previous review that stated that the author left a lot of unanswered questions. How could Savannah not have known that her marriage might be in trouble? The reason for Dwayne's disappearing act was not substantiated. The least the author could have done was for the reader to get a decent explanation. When exactly did this "romance" between Savannah and Anthony really develop? It seems to me that there was not enough depth for me to see any chemistry or real interaction between the two main characters.

However, I did enjoy the story. It was about family support and unconditional love-even when they disagree about each other's lives. I also enjoyed that Savannah didn't break down and stay there. She was thrown for a tremendous loop, but she came out even stronger for it.

Savannah's Destiny Awaits
Great mystery with the right touch of romance. I truly loved it!! Savannah Raven Dailey's world as she knew it was completely rocked when one of her husband's workers' showed up on her doorstep demanding to know why his paycheck bounced. Not only had Paul's paycheck bounced, but Savannah soon discovered that she was penniless and that her husband, Dwayne, had skipped out on her, their family, and their marriage. Literally, Savannah was too stunned to react. However, her sisters stepped in to help her.

Reluctant at first to accept her sister, Sydney's offer to hire and pay for a private investigator, Savannah eventually agrees to the plan in hopes of locating Dwayne. Savannah had no idea that this would also be the beginning of a new chapter in her life, one that she did not count on.

The investigator, Anthony Martin, is awe stricken when he first sees Savannah. She is calm, too calm, and serene, but there is something else that draws Anthony to Savannah and it is not her motherly nature. Ten years younger than Savannah, Anthony still hopes for a romantic relationship with Savannah. After the ordeal with locating the missing spouse which turns into a deadly game and helping Savannah beat a murder rap, Savannah is finally free to start living again and Anthony is there for her.

Though their relationship is strained from the beginning, they are destined to be together. Anthony realizes that he was just waiting for the perfect woman to come into his life and to him that woman is Savannah Raven Dailey. Anthony is determined to prove her innocence, no matter what the cost.

Savannah is indeed a lucky woman, even when life dealt her a blow that is not easily handled. Savannah knew she had to fight to keep the plumbing company going strong and to be a strong mother to her two children, Dwayne Jr and Stephanie, both vulnerable during this point in their lives.

Savannah's sisters, Syndey, Paris and Jakarta are there for her. The Raven sisters are strong and determined women. They came together in a time of need and managed to put their lives on the back burner to help Savannah. They are truly a wonderful family.

I enjoyed "Love's Destiny" Savannah's story and eagerly awaits the other Raven sisters' stories. Is it possible that Jakarta's story may take place in the New Orleans area or possibly involve Zane Reeves, the Assistant District Attorney?

Warner's Blue Ribbon Book on Swarovski Silver Crystal

Warner's Blue Ribbon Book 2000
The book though comprehensive is outdated in a world of online interactivity. Blurry photos in black & white do not allow the detail required for today's collector to come through. The book also expires each year and must be repurchased. 2 Thumbs DOWN! A better choice would be the NEW Crystal Collectors Register by author Sue Bilich. This Full-Color reference guide is more detailed, updatable and very informative. Excellent quality! This is the book collectors have been waiting for and will finally put the Warner Guides where they belong. In the TRASH !

Swarovski and Warner - Useful but outdated
Warner's book is still the most useful companion for the Swarovski collector on the market. However, the pictures are poor (and only black and white), there are a host of page errors in the index, and there is no index by product number. No prices are given for the European editions, although clearly they could be found from Swarovki's Austrian price list. In addition, the text is renewed each year so to stay upto date it is necessary to buy a new copy yearly. In the era of the internet it should be possible to get updates on-line (particularly as Swarovski's year 2000 new products are not even in the 2000 edition). Hopefully competition is on the way.

the only book we have found that covers the subject all of
I have been looking for just such a book for a long time and no one seemed to know of anything like it. The book was found in a small Swarovski shop in Branson Missouri. I knew when I started to look at it, it was THE book i've been looking for! Wish ther was a pocket version like the Beanie Babies have. Can't wait to get started on our inventory

Crystal Enchantment (Futuristic Romance)
Published in Paperback by Love Spell (October, 1995)
Author: Saranne Dawson
Average review score:

Crystal Enchantment left this reader Disenchanted!!!
This book was just plain boring! I read 3/4 of the book before I realized where the author was going with her storyline. I have read other books by this author and found her style of writing to be fantastic! Hoping that her next book will be written in the wonderful, creative style I have come to admire.

One of my favorites! Made me feel like I was there!
If you like futuristic/fantasy and "what if's..." this book is for you, and I was definitely NOT disappointed! This type of read is along the line of 'romance' in the Star Wars trilogy (Leia & Han), and Star Trek (Commander Riker and Councilor Troy). I picked up this book because I enjoyed "Awakenings," (also by Ms. Dawson) and wanted to read more by this author. "Crystal Enchantment" had just enough character detail in the beginning to pike my interest, though the story was a bit predictable. It had a good hook in the beginning (the antagonist) to get the action going. I happen to very much enjoy the 'space' type futuristic novels, especially when two diametrically opposed characters are trying to avoid each other. I also liked that Ms. Dawson kept the hero and heroine quickly moving from place to place, and world to world. I read it in one day I was so involved! Happy reading!

Intriguing
I'm not much for romance novels, nor am I fond criticizing. I picked up this book on a whim(liked the title) and started to read. At the time, I hadn't known there were futuristic romances and I was intrigued. Being a devoted sci-fi reader as well as writer, I was rather impressed with the plot. It has some interesting elements, but does little to stray from the accepted path. Overall, a touching story...and, I understand, the last of a trilogy. The characters are a real trip! I suggest trying it for yourself.

it is a very interesting book.
very interesting book ..............very touching. a unique and enchanting tale.

Crystal Memories
Published in Paperback by Jove Pubns (October, 1997)
Author: Ginny Aiken
Average review score:

Yuks! The worst time passage romance I've read in years!
Save your money... Don't bother to buy the book. The storyline is too far-fetched; the hero (a supposedly handsome man with a toddler daughter that will make any woman swoon!) is a real irritating male chauvenist! I wonder how on earth the so-called heroine (who hails from 1997 Minnesota, by the way) or any heroine for that matter from modern times, can fall in love with a presumptuous jerk like Michael Hayak. In short, how can any sensible heroine fall in love with a guy who EXPECTS you to take care of his child, clean house, cook etc. and is rude and totally presumptuous at the same time?! Oh and the hero expects the heroine to have romantic fantasies about him after the end of a tiring day of hard work too. Hogwash!

This one portrays the actual worldview from the past!
These are characters anyone with a heart will fall in love with. Michael struggles to give the heroine the benefit of the doubt; she doesn't impose the standards of our time on someone who can't possibly understand them. The books centers on the questions of broken promises, building trust, and allowing love to rule over the tendecy to protect oneself. The characters come across as real people, not impossible constructs. Aiken uses language like a poet--a fun read, a language delight. When's her next one due??

Crystal Mission
Published in Paperback by Drake International Services Limited (October, 1999)
Author: Cornelius Van Dorp
Average review score:

Uninformed garbage
I am only commenting on the NZ content - van Dorp consistently gets Maori words wrong; is part of a teensy tiny feeble (in the rationality stakes) group of weirdos here, and has zilch standing in our land. His opus is - ho dear, so badly written that I dont want to waste time lambasting it. This is an author so up himself he'll spend pages describing his [] problems and then ascribe them & his [] predatoriness to a planet-wide root chakra problem.
Avoid this like an haemorrhoid-

Excellent book on discovery of new age consciousness
Van Dorp is a New Zealand Medical Doctor who relates his experiences of discovery of new age consciousness and the power of crystals as he moves from his role as Greenpeace doctor in the Antartic to explorer of the New Age community in the southwestern United States.

The Crystal Sorcerers
Published in Paperback by Avon (April, 1991)
Authors: William R. Forstchen and Greg Morrison
Average review score:

Fantastic Fantasy
Every fantasy readers fantasy. To be sweapt from this old boring world to another fantasy world filled with powers, beautiful women and a great war against evil powers too terrible to behold.

By taking men of our world and placing them into a fantastic world puts the reader in the box seat of all his/her escapist fantacies.

Well worth the read. Unfortunately out of print, and needs and third book that was never written!

Great Escape!
I found this and Crystal Warriors both wonderful and engaging stories. There needs to be a third book to cap it off, please finish what should be a trilogy!

Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal: Prima's Official Strategy Guide
Published in Paperback by Prima Publishing (July, 2002)
Authors: Elizabeth M. Hollinger and Prima Games
Average review score:

Not a walk through!
When I got this I thought it would be a walk through, boy was I wrong! This guide has EVERYTHING I can think of but a walk through! It does have how to use the game, all of the items you can get in the game, *extremely* detailed information on all 251 pokemon, pages on breeding pokemon, etc. Although this guide let me down because of the missing walkthrough (Earning it the 2 star rating) it is helpful, but only if you have or don't want a walk through.

Not What I Thought It Was
There was no detail on this book, and I got it thinking it was a walkthrough. Oops! So to make sure no one else makes the same mistake that I did, I'll tell you what information this book contains.

The PokeDex of all 251 Pokemons. That's the primary purpose of this book. The PokeDex lists the Pokemons, their evolutions (if any), how to catch them if possible, what their move sets are, and their stats.

Basic information on how to play this game. Information on the three starter Pokemons, how the "rock / scissor / paper" aspect of this game plays out, how to use the PokeGear, and all of that.

An "events" calendar chart telling you what events takes place on what days.

A list of all the moves available in the Pokemon, including the TMs and HMs.

Where to get all the TMs and HMs in the game.

A list of items that Pokemon from Red/Blue/Yellow carry over with them onto Gold/Silver/Crystal.

An explanation of what mystery gifts are.

A list of all the items available in the game, and what they do.

The Pokemon breeding guide. Who can breed with whom, what baby Pokemons there are, and how to get them.

What this book does NOT contain is a comphresive walkthrough of the Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal games. The book also does NOT tell you the locations of the wild Pokemons, and the odds of catching them in that location.

The Pokemon Guide
This tells you how to battle and all of the basics. It shows you the gym leaders pokemon and more.
